Residence life is part of Smith’s co-curricular environment that enhances and enriches the academic program. Students come from varied backgrounds, and the house community provides a supportive, social environment for them to learn about and appreciate one another’s experiences and differences.

Spring Break is Saturday, March 12 at 10 a.m. through Sunday, March 20 at 1 p.m. Students who wish to remain on campus for any portion of the Spring Break period must complete the Spring Break Housing Form to register for housing. The form opens at 10 a.m. on Monday, February 21 and closes at 11:59 p.m. on Wednesday, March 2 and can be found in your Residence Life Self-Service. All houses will be open and limited dining will be available. There is no fee for Spring Break housing.
All students who have not signed up to remain on campus during Spring Break must vacate their rooms by 10 a.m. on Saturday, March 12 and may not return to their rooms until Sunday, March 20 after 1 p.m. Any student who has not signed up for Spring Break housing will have their OneCard deactivated during this period and early returns will not be permitted.
Room Draw 2022
Room Draw 2022 will take place on Wednesday, April 13 starting at 5:00 p.m. Room Draw will be completely online. Special Interest Lottery applications will be available from January 31 until February 7. Regular Room Draw forms will be available from February 28 until March 11. Students with housing accommodations will receive a separate email with additional information regarding their housing accommodation process. All forms can be found in Residence LIfe Self-Service.
The Room Change Request Form will be available in Residence Life Self-Service starting on Monday, February 7. Any students who remain on the waitlist from the fall semester will rollover to the spring waitlist. All requests will continue to be reviewed on a first come, first served basis and offered as rooms become available.
Room changes are not guaranteed. Single rooms are extremely limited and students with approved ODS accommodations will be prioritized. If you have any questions regarding your room change request, please contact your neighborhood Area Director/Assistant Director.
